Description
This 50 page photograph album originally belonging to Adelaide (Ada) Gallagher was handed down to her daughter Mary Pauline 'Girlie) Andersen and later to her son Ernie Andersen. The album contains 134 postcards collected by Ada. The majority of the postcards date from World War I and were sent to Ada, her husband John and her daughter Girlie, from the front line. Ada and John's sons Frank, Fred and Vinton all fought in the First World War, Frank was killed on 23 August 1918 aged 23 years, Fred was wounded at Gallipoli and Vinton received a Military medal for his service.

The album also contains many un-used postcards suggesting they were collected for their designs or as a souvenir.
