Yellow velvet cushion cover with printed red and green poppy and foliate motif, late nineteenth century
Description
This piece of velvet is an unmade cushion cover. It has been decorated with a poppy motif in the Art Nouveau style. It dates to the late 19th century and conforms to the aesthetic ideals and fashion for motifs of sinuous form and simple structure such as poppies.
