Description
Black and white hand-printed photograph of the exterior of Rose Seidler House by renowned Australian photographer Max Dupain. In January 1988 Harry and Penelope Seidler generously gifted Rose Seidler House and its contents to the State as a house museum to be managed by the Historic Houses Trust of NSW (now, MHNSW). In the wake of this news, the Historic Houses Trust commissioned Max Dupain to take a series of photographs of Rose Seidler House. These pictures mark the first time that Dupain photographed Rose Seidler House and the moment that the HHT assumed stewardship of this influential modernist house. The photograph shows the house’s open plan design and flexible living spaces.
