Pair of porcelain pastille burners, cira 1810
Description
Pair of Derby pastille burners and covers c. 1810, taking the form of squat cauldrons supported on four lion's paw feet resting on a quadraform base. The rim is pieced, the gilt decoration resembling guilloche decoration. The four cardinal points of the rim are decorated with applied gilt 'green man' masks. The shallow cover has a pierced rim and berry finial. The white ground is painted and gilt in grotesque style with leaves and scrolls.
