Description
’This dish was used for marmalade and preserves to put on the table. It’s made of tough glass. Aunt Kate made a marvellous Seville Orange preserve. It was cut very thickly into half inches in the rind. Beautiful stuff. Yummy. Looked very attractive in the glass. They had beautiful jams in the cupboard in the dining room.My husband doted on the two ’leftovers’: Aunt Tot and Aunt Kate. Aunt Tot had a car. It was a 1928 model – couldn’t have bought it new. Uncle Tom bought it for her after he retired at Blayney. She went there and had lessons from the garage owner. Then she drove it from Blayney to Nowra using the gears. She brought Uncle Tom back in that car and he lived at Meroogal. They turned the buggy shed into a garage. The locked up garage was where the mangers were. The Macgregors’ horse was the last horse left.
