‘Port Jackson NSW Floating Light, 1847, by George Edwards Peacock. This oil painting features a moored, manned floating light vessel The Rose, intended to alert shipping vessels to a dangerous reef known as Sow and Pigs Reef, inside the Heads off Watsons Bay Sydney Harbour, the primary access point to Sydney at that time.
