Description
This hand-coloured engraving depicts mutineers turning Captain William Bligh and some of his officers and crew adrift from HMS Bounty. Bligh would later become the fourth Governor of the colony of NSW and take up residence in first Government House where he was later deposed of his governorship by armed force during the ‘Rum Rebellion’ in 1808.
