Homemade bludgeon confiscated by NSW Police in 1895.
Description
This home made bludgeon, known as a 'Life Preserver', was found under the counter at the 'Democratic Club' in Pitt Street, when raided by NSW Police in 1895. It was taken into the original NSW Police Museum, formed in 1910, which was used to train new recruits about the types of weapons they might encounter on the beat.
