Description
This bakelite and chrome desk telephone was purchased as a prop to represent a similar telephone owned by Rose and Max Seidler when they first moved into their new home, Rose Seidler House, in 1950.
This type of phone, known as a no 332, was designed and developed in the 1930s and first introduced into Australia in 1939 to satisfy the increasing demand for phones in this country. Its efficient design and reliability meant that it was in production for many years - this particular one manufactured in 1955 (according to marks on the base of the phone).
