Description
This leather bound volume recorded visitors calling in on the Swann family at Elizabeth Farm between 1926 and 1969.
It includes an entry dated 1 September 1932, the date of an official visit to Elizabeth Farm.
On this day a photograph was taken, probably shot for a newspaper, showing Edith Swann on her best behaviour, talking to Sir Philip Game, Governor of New South Wales. Earlier in the year, Game had invoked constitutional powers to dismiss the state government led by Jack Lang. The photograph is set on the edge of the Eastern verandah, as Edith no doubt endears the group to the significance and splendour of the lofty Kurrajong and Chinese Elm beyond.
